PostaDVD is one of the cheaper DVD movie rental companies around but, as with all things, you tend to get what you pay for. Slow delivery times and poor customer support are comments frequently leveled in their direction which is a shame because aside from those two, rather large gripes, PostaDVD is an attractive alternative to some of the longer established internet dvd rental companies.

The PostaDVD rental catalogue consists of over 18,000 titles covering various genres. Users are able to review and rate movies they have seen giving further feedback in addition to the on-site reviews, director, cast, crew etc. details provided to help you make your rental choices. In addition, PostaDVD uses a personalised recommendation feature to recommend rental titles to you based upon your previous rentals and ratings of those movies and those of other like-minded people.

PostaDVD also has a small selection of home video game console games to rent including titles from both the Playstation2 and XBox games platform. If console game rentals are what you are mainly looking for however, we'd recommend checking out Gamefly or Gametart (PS2 game rentals only) instead for a much larger selection.

A new feature at PostaDVD is the introduction of Loyalty Points. Even simple things like writing reviews and watching movies can earn you points which can be cashed in once you have 250 of them for a £20 voucher. This is a nice touch which might give them an extra edge if implemented well.

In all, it's nice to see a UK rental company offering both DVD and Console game rentals under the same virtual roof which is the one thing we are stilll sorely lacking on these shores, although PostaDVD will need to improve in terms of both volume of games stocked and better service levels in order to seriously challenge the big players.
