Movie Pigeon has nothing major to set it apart from its DVD rental competition.
The size of the rental catalogue, as stated on the site itself, is a mere 3,000 titles which is going to make finding the titles you want a little tough. Our test titles returned some surprising omissions and most foreign titles drew a complete blank.
The rental charges are very high when compared to the other major players. The 1 DVD package at £9.99 is, for example, £2 more expensive than what Movietrak offers and the 3 DVD subscription package at £20 a month is a whole £5 more than Lovefilm.
The website itself, however, is slick and easy to browse around. Customers can rate the movies they have seen which gives a little helpful feedback for future renters, however, there doesn't seem to be a limit on how many times you can rate...and we just rated something twice without even being logged in, so this is open to abuse.
Umm, I guess the only thing which sets them apart is their adult movie rentals seem to be somewhat 'better' than the main competition...
In all, £20 a month for a site offering such a small rental database is probably going to be too much for most users, although the free 14 day trial is always an option and you might find them to be exactly what you need.
