If you are an avid video game player then you know just how expensive your hobby can be. With console games being priced anything up to and over £40+ for new releases they can burn a real hole in your pocket. There are two rental packages available, allowing you to choose from the option to hire out just one game at a time for £9.99 a month, or for £14.99 you can make that 2 games rented at the same time. Next generation console game rental is priced slightly higher, so if you want your subscription package to include X-Box 360 games (and later, no doubt PS3 games) then you are looking at £10.99 and £16.49 respectively.

For as little as £9.99 a month, GamesFrenzy will give you unlimited access to all the 700+ rental games in their catalogue. Titles are delivered direct to your door postage free, you can keep them as long as you like with no late fees and no hidden charges. Once you are finished with the game, you simply return it (freepost again) in the envelope provided and they will immediately send you another game of your choice by return of post.

Unlike many of the DVD rental companies, there are few free trials on offer amongst the UK online game rental services and Games Frenzy is no exception. However, if you take out a quarterly subscription there is a small discount and GamesFrenzy offers some of the cheapest video game rental packages in the UK anyway.

Although having a relatively small selection of games when you consider the number of titles out there, Games Frenzy offers one of the better UK console game rental services. Be aware not every console is covered here, PS1, GBA and Nintendo DS owners will need to look elsewhere for starters and PS2 owners might want to look at Game Tart with its massive 1,300 title selection, but overall Game Frenzy offers a decent alternative to your local video store.
