It is strongly rumoured that yet another player will be entering the UK DVD rental market in January 2005 thanks to easyGroup entrepreneur Stelios Haji-Ioannou showing an interest in the marketplace.

Powered by Video Island who also provide rentals for both Tesco's and MSN's online DVD rental services, initial signs are that this new rental service will be on a pay-as-you-rent basis, with rentals costing £1.99 for 21 days, including free delivery and return postage.

This should be good news for consumers who already benefit from a variety of other low cost services including the budget airline easyJet and low cost cinema easyCinema thanks to the group's other projects.
